Finding the Right Hearing Aids

There are many different types, styles, and levels of hearing aid technology available today. Because there are so many options, we will work with you to find the right device for your unique needs. When recommending hearing aids, we consider a couple factors: your lifestyle (activity level) and your degree of hearing loss.

How active you are and what kind of listening environments you spend your time in is a big factor for deciding what type of hearing aid will best suit you. If you spend most of your time one-on-one or in a quiet setting at home then you will only need a hearing aid with a lower technology level. If you spend your time in an office, out at restaurants with groups of multiple people, then you would need a higher level of technology to help you hear in those complex listening environments.

Your degree of hearing loss is also a factor. Hearing loss ranges from mild to moderate to severe. The more severe your loss means you will need a higher level of technology to hear. No matter what your lifestyle is like or what your degree of hearing loss is, we can help you.

Over the Counter Hearing Aids

At Hearing Rehabilitation Center, our goal is to help you experience the best hearing possible, no matter what. We understand everyone’s hearing loss and budgets are different, that’s why we are now offering some over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids for sale at our office.

OTC devices are different from prescription hearing aids but they can be helpful for some people. OTC hearing aids are designed for adults (18+) who have mild hearing loss and only need a little amplification. If you’re not quite ready for a prescription hearing aid, an OTC hearing aid might be a good first step.

Hearing Aid Accessories

In addition to a large selection of hearing aids, we also carry many hearing aid accessories and assistive listening devices (ALDs). Accessories and ALDs are great for people who need a little extra assistance in complex listening environments. However, many people use hearing aid accessories because they can make hearing more seamless.

At Hearing Rehabilitation Center, we carry cell phone accessories for hearing aids that put additional distance between your hearing aids and phone. This reduces feedback, buzzing, and interference between the two devices.

We also carry CapTel, a captioned telephone. Speech is transcribed in real-time and appears as text on a large, easy-to-read screen. If you are interested in any of our hearing aid accessories or ALDs, please contact us.
